Hi People

I thought i,d take the boat out with the g/f & kids for a good days fishing yesterday so off we went to my boat

i dropped the g/f & kids off at Torquay inner Harbour floating mooring so i could go get my boat from my mooring useing the tender, so off i went rowing out to my boat which went fine, got on my boat unpacked the gear & got the engine started up, so far so good & all ready to go

all thats left is to get back in the tender and pull myself ...

Another choppy day on the waves

Managed to set my alarm for 04.30 this morning, last night, kept waking up in the night and thinking lush, stil more time in bed, only to wake again at 05.30 to find the alarm hadn't gone of at all and I was now late for the sun-up fishing session on The Sound in the Yak.......... Bxxxxxxks I thought . Anyway, I just managed to get on the wet suit and arrive in Plymouth just after 6.00 and in the water by ten past.

Choppy, big tide and cold out there again, what the hell's going on with ...

Been out on The Sound Monday and Tuesday late evening for a couple of hours in the Yak. Water was very Choppy both nights, especially on Tuesday. Getting out was hard work, but drifting back in was steady. I've been using a cheap "Dexter" 30G wedge on a 4ft yak rod. Monday was cracking, a dozen mackies, a bass just over keepable size, and 2 school bass which I put back. A fantastic night really after blanking the last 4 trips out, had to grease my fixed reel after as it was siezing ...

Went for a few hours on the Dart out of Dittisham on Sunday.

Fished from low water 06.15 till about 11.30.

We took crab/ Rag/ & some sandeels. all intended for rays. I'd allready done a bit of home work & emailed Mike Colcanon, on the fishing Dartmouth website. I must say he is a great bloke, who gave me a comprehensive reply with loads of advice on which marks to try.

we spent a couple of hours just past the rock past Greenaway quay & unintentionally picked up a few schoolies. ...

Met up with Gypsy yesterday with a coulple of guys from the WSF site to try our luck on the waves.

And waves there were. I described it as quite rough, i was informed by Gypsy it was "messy". There nearly was a mess on a few occasions as we bucked and rolled our way out of Starcross towards the Hopes Nose area..

The guys at the back of the boat seemed to be enjoying their free" salt water showers", unfortunately I wasnt in a position to have one, damned unlucky that, for ...

One of the posties at my place gave up the unequal struggle against Crozier and Leighton a few months ago and bought a crabbing boat which he runs off Salcombe.

Invited a few of us on board for the annual crabbers race that is the start of Salcombe regatta week.

Race was from fish quay to "the bar" and back, and a few beers for the trip .

1st post so be gentle....

My mate & I are going to take our dingy off of Meadfoot on Monday morning, I was wondering if ther is any inside info anyone could offer? we've only got a 9 foot boat so wont be venturing far.

I've got some frozen crab, frozen sandeel, sqid & mackerel. gonna take some lures too.

is ther any specific baits, spots ect that are working @ the mo?

booked a trip with nick oatway (as seen in tsf about a year ago) on his boat aquarius and was really looking forward to it..

well.... i was up at the crack of dawn to be in kingston by 6.00 having picked up the father in law on the way... met with Nick and Bob (who were diamond geezers by the way) and made our way to the mooring.

a more picturesque setting/mooring i am yet to see.

made our way out to catch some launce and Joeys for bait (Nick is still waiting for his first delivery of sand ...

I've been watching others post for a while and thought it time to not only get registered but to also contribute. I've Really enjoyed the banter and information in the forum, especially Phils kayaking info and vid's.

Bought a kayak 2nd hand from Exmouth a month ago, planning to do so since last year...lazy git, LOL.

First trip out was Plymouth Sound, late evening for a couple of hours, spinning with Dexter, bagged a dozen mackies and a nice Bass, yum yum yum .

Operating hours for the Bridge and Cill, subject to tides are 0700 - 2100 hours during the summer(1st May to 30th September) and 0800 - 1700 during the winter (1st October to 30th April). However, opening arrangements outside these hours can be arranged with prior notice (minimum of two hours).

the map above contains a brief discription of beer head , the is a wreck off shore here which you can gps direction to from many diving sites . its marked as a blue shape with black lines in it which means its a submerged wreck and it is dangerous. hope this may help you boat fishers looking to find the spot

We managed to get out on a mates boat on sunday, didnt really no where to start. A realy nice guy that owns sea spray 3 gave us quite a few hints and tips to get us started. We had lug, squid, peeler and some mackeral we pulled in as bait.

We didnt ahve an anchor so we where drifting, straight away my mate had a wrasse that must have been over 5lbs, soooooo big. We then carried on and managed whiting, pollock, mackeral, a red gurnard, three wrasse and 3 bull huss. The wrasse was a PB for ...

What a week - personal best pollack on monday and now a PB bass this morning!

I was out at the crack of dawn this morning to test my new engine and, to be honest was more interested in whizzin about than fishing. I fished Meadfoot from the shore yesterday morning and blanked, had one swirl near my popper but otherwise nothing, so I wasn't too hopeful.

Out with mike on Sea Breeze for a bit of general dibbling about with shads, plastic eels and Hokkais. We had a few mackies off berry head but no Pollack and decided to head further out (not too far as it was a bit windy ).

we started to pick up a few small pollack on pink and red feathers including mikes famous hernia inducing string of 5.

The highlight (or the worst part of my life so far, you choose) of the day was when a Bass of about 5lb hit a black and green shad that I had ...

accidently went the wrong way this morning and ended up launching off budleigh again . i think the reason for this is its easy to drag the kayak along the soft edged large pebbles , well at least down to the water , the pull back up it a little more trying as its pretty steep there at the moment.

there were a lot of craft in the bay area today , i got in the water at 10:30 and headed for the collection of boats in the middle of the bay , all drift fishing the same area , which i have noticed ...
